While that might sound like a lot of money, recreational cannabis is still behind other industries in terms of retail sales, suggesting it may not be as tantalizing as we thought. In the first quarter of 2019, Canadians spent $167 million on recreational weed. In comparison, Canadians spent $5.6 billion on alcohol in that same period.
