Huge flower display outside Covenant Care of Pensacola looks to spread cheer

We could all use a little pick-me-up right now, even if it's just something visual that puts a smile on our face from our driver's side seat.

Fiore Florist and Covenant Care of Pensacola provided that for Pensacola motorists with a "flower flash" that went up late Friday afternoon on the Covenant Care's 12th Avenue road sign.

An array of springtime flowers completely consumed the sign, making it an impossible sight to miss for anyone driving down 12th Avenue.

"It happens to be a really beautiful spring flower crop," said Shannon Pallin, the owner of Fiore Florist, on Friday morning. "What my wholesalers were not able to sell today, at the end of the day, they are donating it to us and we are going to take it in turn to Covenant Care for a floral art installation."

Some flowers were also given away to hospice patients at the 12th Avenue facility, according to Pallin, who said the whole idea was really centered around easing people's minds during the coronavirus pandemic.
