BLOOMEX – Being Canada’s Largest and most successful Florist has it’s drawbacks...

Bloomex is very quickly becoming synonymous with “Flower Delivery”. As Canada’s largest Florist word is spreading of their high quality flowers at very reasonable prices. Bloomex has been operating as an online florist since 2006 so they are painfully aware of the negative impact bad reviews have on their business. To this end they have created a seamless Customer Service platform that offers 24/7 response to their clients issues, complaints and questions.

Bloomex Canada always strives to satisfy customers by supplying them fresh, well priced bouquets made in their own facilities. Bloomex currently owns and operates seventeen strategically located facilities across Canada. Based on their geographical locations Bloomex can delivery Same Day Flowers and Gift Baskets to roughly 89% of Canada’s population. This business model provides better quality control and product consistency at a lower cost then traditions florists and online order gatherers.

Many people wonder is Bloomex a legitimate business or a scam of sorts – this is a somewhat valid question as their prices seem to be “unbelievable” and as many have come to realize “if something seems too good to be true chances are... it isn’t”. However a closer look into their business plan identifies significant savings over traditional florists – not the least of which is “Buying Power”. By virtue of being Canada’s largest, most successful florist they buy a lot of flowers... directly from the farms. There are two advantages of this process – first, and most importantly, the flowers are fresher, second, by eliminating the wholesalers and middlemen, the flowers are cheaper.

Like most successful businesses Bloomex started small, specifically as a family run flower shop in Toronto. It’s growth to Canada’s Largest Florist wasn’t immediate or a stroke of good luck. It came about, like all successful businesses, based on hard work, financial investment, well thought out decisions, and most importantly, good product and customer service, provided by employees that genuinely care and respect their clients.

Today, Bloomex operates in Canada, USA, Australia, New Zealand and UK. When this article was written Bloomex had successfully delivered over 3,000,000 orders. With projected 20% annual growth Bloomex is poised to claim it’s 10,000,000th flower delivery within the next seven years.  While owner and president Dimitri Lokhonia may claim that was his vision when he opened his little flower shop back in 2006 it’s safe to say it has even exceeded his expectations.

Director of Marketing, Mark Camphaug, took the time to weigh in on the plethora of negative reviews that can be found online about Bloomex. “It’s human nature to complain if something isn’t what you expected, I get it. That said, alternatively, people aren’t preconditioned to go online and sing your praises if they simply receive what they expected, or more accurately, what they paid for - I know I don’t. Unfortunately in today’s world people rely on “reviews” before they make a purchase to validate their decision with a previous user experience. The issue is they are only getting one side of the story – is it really a fair assessment of a companies ability to deliver? Furthermore the same companies that offer a platform for consumers to complain then turn around and offer the targeted business an opportunity to buy themselves out of poor reviews – to me it’s borderline extortion.”

A quick look at Bloomex Terms and Conditions outlines all policies and procedures. They operate within those perimeters.  If a client isn’t happy with their order the situation is quickly investigated and, if validated, then the client is offered a re-delivery or store credit. Based on the high perishability of fresh cut flowers it is a fair and equitable approach. A quick look at Bloomex Google Reviews bares witness to the fact that some clients are unsatisfied with that option and the unfortunate vitriol that comes with it.

BUYERS BEWARE!!
So disappointed, ordered Mother’s Day flowers Friday May 12th for my Mother. Flowers didn’t arrive until Tuesday May 16th in a box with no vase, personal note written on the back of the invoice and flowers extremely wilted. Bloomex claim to be Canada’s #1 florist but the quality of the flowers were terrible, not like the picture online. So misleading. What was supposed to be a beautiful surprise became something so disappointing!!! You can purchase better flowers at the grocery store and for less than $50.

They don’t deliver what they say they will. No refund! No redelivery. Not same day delivery!
Nor the next day. 5 days to deliver grocery store flowers. Looked nothing like what I ordered. Not even a single rose when there should have been many. Not even same colours chosen.

BEWARE!!!

Absolute nightmare. This is the second time I am dealing with this company and apart from a good looking website there's nothing good about them.

First, I get overcharged by their sales agent over the call named March. I specifically told her that I need this order to be under $86 USD and says the order is in CAD which was $99. When I was charged exsessive amount, She told me that since I was outside of Canada it's charged in USD. SHE IS SUPPOSED TO TELL ME THAT BEFORE PUTTING A CHARGE. I told her specifically I was out of country.

Moving forward she directed my call to a Support agent. She literllay told me that there was nothing they could do and I have to cancel my order and process a refund which will take who knows how much time. Being in a position with limited funds I could not cancel and reorder. Upon asking names she did not provide them and the worst part is SHE HUNG UP AND BLOCKED MY ACCOUNT without any notice or cancellation. I had to email the team again this morning to revoke the account.

Later today I get a notification from them that the number was not correct hence delivery not made. I PLACED A ORDER FROM CALL AND IF THE NUMBER IS NOT COMPLETE THE AGENT NEEDS TO ASK ME AND CONFIRM THE NUMBER AGAIN. If the number is not complete any system will give you a notification to put complete number.

In the end, I was charged exessive, treated really bad by their call center probably overseas And after going through so much my order is not fulfilled and they can't gurantee if it will be proceeded today.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER & I WILL POST ON VARIOUS PLATFORMS SO PEOPLE STAY AWAY FROM THEM. I WILL UPDATE ONCE I HEAR FROM THEIR TEAM.

Truly genuinely shocking product and service. DO NOT USE!

Shockingly poor customer service and infuriating lack of communication.
Ordered a delivery as a Christmas gift and it arrived frozen; therefore, flowers were dead and slimy. Reached out for resolution; offered refund or re-delivery. Asked if re-delivery arrived before Christmas I am happy to go ahead otherwise please provide a refund. This was clearly too complicated and I received a status update of, ‘to be delivered when new stock arrives’. Another email later I was refused the previously offered refund (I even sent a copy of the email) and provided with a store credit of $49.99 instead of my purchase order being $70.30 (not an insignificant amount).
Many many emails later I'm still awaiting access to my store credit but have no such thing on my account or via email. I keep getting told it is attached to my email.
Truly genuinely shocking and the worst company I have ever come across.
Use a competitor or local small business; you can do much better.
Shame on you, Bloomex!

Not Happy At All - Ordered for funeral from Cambridge

Your review
Flowers were frozen - arrived three days late
Was told the following :
Thank you for contacting us. The address provided for delivery is not in one of our local delivery areas. We deliver there overnight with the couriers from Tuesday to Friday. We regret seeing the courier company delayed the order. Unfortunately, these sorts of delays are out of our control, though we will follow up with the couriers to eliminate this from happening in the future. We are sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with what was received. Upon having reviewed the pictures sent to us we are able to determine that the arrangement you received was in accordance with our policy. We always send fresh and healthy plants. Their roots are strong. The plants will recover soon, they just need time and care. Please kindly replate the indoor flower from the basket along with the earthen lump. Shake lightly, but do not remove the soil from the roots. Transfer to a new pot with expanded clay and some earth at the bottom. It is very important to water the flowers to saturate the earth. After following these simple instructions, the plants will delight your dear

So our friend needs to take time and shake the roots - come on !

Never again

FRAUDULENT FLORIST
Your review
Before I placed an order for flowers, I sought assurances that Bloomex could deliver to that address. They assured me, twice, that they would do so. In addition, I noted that it was urgent, for a very ill family member. Timing was critical.

Then, when they FAILED to deliver the flowers, they issued a store credit, without my authorization, against my wishes, instead of refunding my money in full. They said they would get back to me. They did not do so. They are engaging in FRAUDULENT and deceptive practices. They are in breach of their agreement. If you accept money from a consumer, including a delivery charge, you had better fulfill your end of the contract.

Do NOT order flowers from Bloomex, EVER !!! BUYER BEWARE!

Just wanted to say I was very happy with the service and flowers. The person I spoke with was knowledgeable and made suggestions that were great. The flowers were delivered same day and were beautiful.

A MOST Wonderful & VERY Worthwhile Experience, Start To Finish...!!!
Your review
We were recently told by our 2 tenants (living in the condo that we own in Liberty Village) that they were getting married just a few days ago --- and that they had chosen our property as being the actual site of this happy event...!

Naturally we wanted to send them flowers that same day as a token of our congratulations, and after an extensive on-line search of local florists (our home is a good 1-1/2 hours' drive away), we selected Bloomex. It was a fortuitous move, too --- not only was the floral arrangement delivered that same day, but a subsequent e-mail to us from our tenants stated that the Bloomex flowers were, by far, the absolute nicest-looking ones of all of the flowers they had received --- and we agree: the floral arrangement in the photograph that they had thoughtfully provided actually looked prettier than the ones that we had seen in the on-line Bloomex ad when we first made our initial decision...!

The updates from Bloomex re. the processing and the delivery of our order was an unexpected --- but appreciated --- surprise, as well.

All in all, we are MOST impressed by not only the PRODUCT, but the SERVICE of this first-class florist...a heartfelt THANK-YOU from all of us...!!!

Dead flowers

Your review
Very disappointed with the flowers that were delivered. The flowers were dead. Customer service did nothing to resolve the situation despite s verbal attempts to get in touch with them. We will never order from this company again. I also work in Long Term Care and have seen many flowers delivered to our residents from family members and the flowers were dead upon arrival. Very disappointed in the quality and customer service.

Very poor customer service
Your review
They have changed my order without even letting me know, also dropped a vase from the original order, and the flowers arrived in a relatively poor condition. Asking for reimbursement resulted in offering store credit, I did not accept the offer, no response afterward. Overall, very poor customer service.
